Our first live workshop on anitya, led by Vitor—one of our top world-builders and 3D design experts—was a deep dive into the world of immersive virtual environments. anitya is a groundbreaking platform that makes 3D world-building accessible without the need for coding. Its intuitive design empowers both experienced creators and newcomers to craft detailed, interactive environments with ease.
1. Navigating the Interface: We kicked off with the basics of navigating anitya’s interface. Mastering how to zoom, rotate, and move around is crucial for effective world-building. We covered how to use W, A, S, D for movement and Q, E for adjusting altitude—simple yet essential controls for exploring your virtual space.
2. Managing Assets: Uploading and organizing assets in anitya is a breeze. We discussed the different file types supported—GLBs for 3D models, PNGs for images, MP3s for audio, and OGVs for videos. Proper asset management is key to maintaining a smooth workflow and keeping your project organized.
3. Creating and Handling Entities: Entities are the building blocks of your world in anitya. We learned how to create, group, and manage these elements, which helps keep everything in order. By understanding how to duplicate and adjust entities, you can streamline your workflow and make your virtual space more dynamic.
4. Text and 3D Models: The workshop included hands-on exercises with text components and 3D models. We explored how to customize text properties and manipulate 3D models, which are crucial for adding detail and personality to your environments.
5. Scene Design and Layout: We talked about modular design techniques and using top-down sketches to plan your virtual space. This method allows for easy adjustments and efficient layout planning, making it simpler to arrange and reposition elements as needed.
6. Leveraging Resources: We also highlighted various resources for enhancing your projects. From SketchUp’s 3D Warehouse to AI voice generation tools like 11 Labs, these resources can enrich your world-building experience and help you find the perfect assets for your needs.
